Mid Week Procrastination

I added a link to My Picasa photos- Ireland trip. I'm putting off finishing mowing my lawn.
I'm hoping to sit & stitch on Bittersweet Moon tonight- I've been pitifully neglectful at stitching since I've come back.
Axie got her teeth floated today (i.e. the horsie dentist files her teeth so that the sharp edges go away). No vet necessary for happy juice- this guy does it all by hand; Em said he was impressed by how well behaved & pretty she was (for a Thoroughbred!), but natch- we knew that already!I took some photos the other day of Em & Axe; I wish she gave me access to them ;(
>SIGH!!<
Off to mow.

Happy Memorial Day

It was a l-o-n-g weekend. I worked at the barn everyday, plus evening feed Friday.

So much for enjoying a "sleep-in" on a holiday "day-off".

Well, I've already looked at the calneder & July 4th is on a Wednesday-OOPS! Sorry! Wednesdays are NOT my work day at the barn. I love how the kids whine about how they can't possibly work seven days a week! It's alright for the rapidly aging, cranky 45 year old to work 7 days, but not the 19 & 20 somethings.

I got a new phone- a Fire Motorola KRZR. So far I like it, but I hvae to get all my phone numbers in there & I think Verizon wants to charge me like $20 for the priviledge of doing so.
I had some drama when the purchase involved shutting off Emily's LG phone for a whole day; long story not worth writing about.

I cooked on the grill every day this weekend- Bob came over all 3 days. We had hot dogs & potato salad & bruschetta Saturday, then had more hot dogs plus burgers and corn on cob & same sides Sunday, then steak, home fires & same sides today. I made Rice Krispie treats for dessert today.
Emily & I got waffle bowl sundaes from DQ last night after I mowed the lawn. I REALLY want another tonight!
No stitching though. ;(
I finished "The Devil Wears Prada". It was good- I haven't seen the movie, yet; I'll probably see that sometime when it's on TV. I was imagining Meryl Streep in the Miranda role as I read, but Anne Hathaway as Andy didn't stick. The incidental characters in the book seem to be the basis for all the incidental characters on "Ugly Betty".
Well, I have to go take soem Aleeve, get my laundry from the dryer & crash on the couch to rest my sore tootsies.

New WIP

Bittersweet Moon by Blackbird Designs:

It's on 28 ct. Cashel "Relic"; I apologize for the dark scan- I didn't press the fabric onto the platen (it's mounted in a scroll frame)

No more new TV- more time to stitch!!
LOST was just awesome last night- back to the original formula of excitement, suspense, humor and unexpected twists. I can't wait for next season.

Here's another Ireland photo:
This is Portmagee. The Valencia Island bridge is behind us.
Off for some stitching.

I will try to add my Ireland Webshot album as a link.

I just found out I can't back up that album, though. I might look into Fliker.

I will edit when I look this up- I think it was on the way to or from Kenmare.

Here' s Mom in front of the bridge to Valencia Island; we're on the Portmagee side. The public restroom here had a 'Best of Ireland 2002" award- it WAS very clean!

Now that i have all my chores & such caught up on, I will try to add more stuff about our trip. We had such a wonderful, relaxing time. I'm glad I was able to take my mom while she can still travel and enjoy it.

I'm BAAAACK!

Got back late yesterday afternoon- I'll write later- but we had an excellent adventure.
It's always better to be home though.
I may wait until Friday evening to write, after Mom goes back to FLA.

My footsies..

are SO sore!
I did 5 hours at the barn; then showered & drove into Boston. I brought back a bunch of Em's stuff. We got food at the Student Union- it was good. i got a chicken quesadilla in honor of Cinco De Mayo, and Em got a chinese chicken plate.
Traffic was molasses-slow on th eway home, but I got there in time to walk Chicken then zooom back up the barn to feed.
Then I dragged out the lawn mower. The new gas can I bought last night has a 3/4" slice (opening the carton maybe?) just below the level of the gas I bought (not realizing there was a slice of course).
And what do you know? It staretd on the first pull! So I proceeded to mow half the lawn.
Now I feel better.
Still have to clean this room & the bath (and the rest of my house) for Mom.
I have a couple of odds & ends to get at Walmart too.
I have to get to bed.

I want to finish this as a pillow for a hostess gift for my friends in Ireland.
I did a bunch of yard work yesterday. I am desperate to mow my lawn; I don't know that I'll get to it before I leave next week. I picked up th ewillow debris, though, and pulled ivy off the house.
