Are we there yet?

Sorry for the (again!) long pause between posts. I have progress pix to take & upload, but not tonight.
I put all the horses out yesterday - 12 that is - 3 stayed inside. Then when I was done at the barn I had to drive to my day job to finish a side project for 3 -1/2 hours. then speed back to the barn to bring them all in again & night feed.
Today, i was done relatively early because we decided to leave them in, but my close friends were having a baby shower, so I picked Emily up from the train, then drove her back to Boston to transport as much dorm stuff as she could do without for the next 2 weeks. Then speed back to the barn to do the evening grain- Bob's SO Jen did the hay.
Chicken's ready to disown me i've spent so little time with her.
I have to get my house ready for Mom next week, then Ireland!!! While we're gone, Emily's done with school.
Plus my grass needs mowing, but I have to pick up willow branch/debris prior to that, AND get the mower running.
I need a nap.
I will try my best to get progress shots- Kitty is SO close to done, I almost want to wait for that.
I have to decide on a travel project too!

Best Candy EVER!

Daim from IKEA:

Thin, buttery toffees enrobed in rich milk chocolate. Like a Heath BAr only better! They're about a 1/16" thick x 1/2" x 1".

Look for them!

Time for House.

Newest Progress...

Sorry- I've been lax about posting again. Here's progress on Kittys form S&B last Thursday:
I finished the grass except for 7 stitches under the gray cat, I finished the lower right corner with another black cat & "07", and did the viney thing above the grass on the right. The end is near!
Here's progress on "Wish":
I'm almost done with the right "S". My boss hung around the office ALL week. First, he bought new LCD flat screens (22"). He hooked mine up Tuesday afternoon. Thursday morning my system was flakier than a blizzard. By Friday afternoon he decided it was the new monitor. (GEE- ya think???)
Hopefully, he got it straightened out. He has me set up on his system, but I have no favorites so I can't check out all my stuffs including my Daily Jigsaw. It's VERY annoying.
Anyway, thta's all folks!

Remember This?

Here's some progress finally on My Wish Ornament:

I got the "I"s done and started on the first "S".

I wiped out at work today: the Terminex man had to access the house; I opened the door & realized they had set the alarm. I couldn't remember the disarm code, but had it written inside the office. I ran in, and then out and slipped on the slimy back step- fell flat on my stomach/hands/elbow, as the siren started. The heel of my left hand has a scrape that's still oozing bloody, as well as scrapes on the 1st knuckles of 3 fingers on the same hand. For the life of me I can't figure out how I managed to scrape BOTH sides of the same hand. Lucky me.

Chicken is now banned at Mickey D's. Bob took her for a happy meal at the drive thru Saturday. They opened the window to pass money and she saw the burger bag and smelled food! and dove right in past the cashier onto the floor. Bob had to go in & get her. She rolled over on her back with her little legs in the air- she knew she was a bad doggie!

I made these tonight: Cookie Madness Oatmeal Cookies:

I used Craisins, macadamias & some coconut. They came out delicious. My oven has been wonky lately though. I had to keep fiddling with the temp.

Back to the couch. Heroes is back next week I think.

Finished!

Thoughts of Spring
Erica Michaels
Crescent Colors "Cottage Garden"
Antique White 32 ct. Jobelan

I bought a table lamp & a daylight bulb at Walmart for $9.97 & $3.44. Works great and much cheaper than an OTT lite.

I worked on Kittys at S&B, and only did the grass to the right of the house- not significant enough to warrant a picture.

Gray's Anatomy is on

Old Stash, Old Eyes

I remembered this in my stash:

I bought it several years ago from the "other" store. It's finished size is 1-1/2" x 2" on silk gauze. I need to do this before my eyesight gets so bad I can't see it anymore!

Amanda rode the Axe yesterday & came again tonight as I was leaving after making up grain.

It's such a big help to have someone riding her; I'm just so spent most of the time.

Shame on me..

this week's (month's ?) question making the rounds is:
"How do you decide which stitching blogs are worth regular viewings? Are there certain things you look for in particular? Are there things you wish there were more of? Less of? Is your blog a good example of what you like to read?"
Well, I like lots of progress pictures- they are such an inspiration, as well as being a way I can stitch vicariously- I'm so busy 24/7 that I just can't sit down & stitch every night. It eases my guilt to see what everyone is doing.
-SIGH- ;^(
I also like frequent updates, a couple of posts each week, maybe? Not a novel, but even just a "hey- I just have a sec- but look at this!" will suffice to keep me interested.
I also have a very sarcastic sense of humor, so if the blogger is funny, I'll overlook my other top priorities. My two favorite blogs, at the top of my "Favorites" list are "Garden of Stitches" and "Stitch Bitch", but I assure you, my list is now so long it takes more than 45 minutes to read thru all postings -EVERY DAY! So please don't feel offended- I love all the blogs on my listand read you daily, but Carol's & Anna's I have to read first.
Which brings me to the shameful admission that I don't do either - lots of pictures or frequent updates.
Maybe I should try to take one photo a day to post? Preferably stitching related, i would think.
I'll try to be a better blogger- honestly I will!! I've been trying to proof-read typos, and those occur every 3rd word you know! This isn't easy for me ya know!

After Stitch & Bitch:

Here's my progress:

I just have two butterflies, and the bottom row of X-stitches, the straight stitches and rip out one heart to replace with a Rhodes Stitch heart. I got so wrapped up in this version of the chart, I forgot about the specialty stitches substitutions.

Here's leftovers from Sunday's Chinese that I had last night:

Under the silverware is beef teriaki, clockwise is General Gao's chicken (my new fave & I HATE sweet & sour!), then boneless spareribs, then a chicken finger, then pork fried rice. The Tiki Buddha has great food. I threw out what was left after this plate; I've been eating it every night since Sunday & it's time for a change.

I have to go check on the Axe. Maybe I'll find Amanda has ridden her. Keep those fingers crossed!

Before Stitch & Bitch:

This was scanned in at work; I may have to redo at home. I will endeavor to post an "After" photo tonight- I am SO CLOSE to finishing this!

Briefly:

Here's my progress on Thoughts of Spring:

I started the words & other center motifs. This part is working up quickly- if I could find a couple of hours to devote to it, I know I could finish it.(Like everyone else at S&B!)

Here's progress on Kittys:

I finished the roof, and now have to get back to that boring grass.

Emily qualified for the MHJ finals- she placed second in the show this weekend in that class. The finals are the 1st weekend in September.

Other barn craziness going on.

I think Heroes returns tonight- I have to go.
