Go Pats!!

52 - 0!! Matt Cassel just scored a TD! With more than 5 minutes left!
Chris Collingsworth can just go stuff it!! Bitching last week because the Pats "ran up the score".
Screw you Collingsworth- the game AIN'T over until the clock stops!

Fuzzy stuff

Here's Delilah:

all of a sudden she's gotten very fuzzy. Her tail is so puffed out- it looks like Aslan's tail when he's spooked! Don't tell anyone but she's on the table!! Where we eat!

The Patriots are slaughtering the Redskins. (Just got a TD- 44-0!!!) They just said next week they'll be playing the wussy girl cry-baby Manning & the Colts.

The Red Sox are playing Game 4 tonight. I wish they'd win the Series at home, but it would be nice to sew things up tonight.

Visual Interest

Here's progress on my biscornu:

I'm almost done with the stitching part, then I'lll add the beads. I still have to fgure out something for the back side- I don't want to use the other design because I'd rather have 2 ornaments.

Here's Chicken wanting to go to bed:

'That beef stew was yummy, Mommy! Can we have more tomorrow?"

I can't wait for Deb to get her order in from the Needlework show- she's ordered a lot of charts that I know I'll like!

Well, it's past my bedtime- it's 2-1 Boston in the 7th inning Game 2. SQWEEE!!!! I can't take it!! Too much tension!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Just a quickie before work:
I've been running over to Dianne & Jen's after work to help clean stalls- guilt over them taking care of Axe. I gave them the returned board from HBF last night, too. for shavings & hay & grain.
I really hate eating supper at 7:30-8:00-ish. By the time I'm done & washed dishes, I just want to collapse on the coach & vegetate in front of the TV.
Tonight is stitching nite, so maybe I'll have energy & time to sit at my desk- I have a couple of bills to pay & I really need to do some filing and it's been a month since my last checkbook reconciliation these are my sins. OOPS! Lapsed Catholic comes out. Boss is here

Almost Done

I have one more weeeknd at the barn. Today was a show day so I had to be there at 5:00 am. I was done by 7-ish. Bob came over around 10:30. We drove aroind looking at barns- Oh! I see a new keyboard is not helpin gin the typo department. It must be me that's the problem! I decided to leave it with Emily as to what to do about Axe. She wants to go back to HBF, and I understand all the reasons why, but I just don't feel , in the long run, that it's the best place for her, as far as care goes, and costs to me. So at least she agreed to allow Axe to be moved to Alice & Dave's when a stall opens up there. I guess I can live with that. The barn in Berkley ended up being a "Go up every night to make sure she had water" place, too, and that was a 20 minute drive one way. Well, I have to make some beef stew for Bob at the barn & Dianne & Jen.

AHA!

Chicken after her bath last week!
I'll get photos of my biscornus. I'm still playing with settings & such on this.

Out with Old & In with the New...

I picked up my new PC at lunch. I can't believe how slim & light the moniter is! Well, at least the box it comes in. Supposedly everything as far as my data goes is on my desktop- keep your fingers crossed for me, and those of you with nimble toes- they'd help too!
The barn manager came to my house Monday evening to apologize for going off on me. I told him I just can't continue working there but I'd give him the last two weekends this month so he'll have time to find someone.
Axe so remembers her old stable mates- she never nickers at other horses at HBF, nor at ALice's, but she was so excited to see her old friends, Twister & Gabe.
I'm so grateful that I have such good friends who could take us in last minute.
For those of you tired of all text (and boring crap at that) and no pictures- I tried to scan progress shots of my biscornus, but I don't seem to have the Sharp software on my system here at work to receive the images. Don't know where THAT went- it was installed a long time ago.
I've got to run between two barns for the next two weeks & try to find a new place; I'll try to hook up my new system & re-install software as quick as I can so I can get pix posted. My new system has XP SP2, which I know is not compatible with my scanner, so unless I can find a driver update, that option is out.

Now I've Done it!

My PC should be ready today, but we shall see.
I quit mid-shift at the barn yesterday, not a wise thing to do in case you were thinking of trying it yourself, a combination of dead shit machine, Assface boy and my utter exhaustion caused me to just not care and then all hell broke loose. The barn manager told us to take the horse & leave- NOW!
which we did. Even though my quitting working there is entirely separate from paying board.
Of which they really need to refund half a month's worth.
I found another place, a little cheaper, but further away, but with an indoor where I can continue to ride her in the evenings after work. Now I just have to have Emily agree and she is SO pissed - beyond pissed- at me.
Axe spent the night at a friend's barn- the place where I wanted to bring her, except they had just rented their last stall the day before. Can you believe my luck?
Well, I have to get to work to take my mind of this stuff.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Well, I got my RAM chip & power supply hooked back up, and mind you, I labeled all the connections, both the innies and the outies, before I disconnected everything.
Well, I don't know what I did wrong, or the fact that I fiddled with a dying power supply may have done it in for good, but my system didn't "see" that I had two hard drives. Therefore, I couldn't back up all my (and Miss Em's) data to the Seagate external. Nor make sure I saved all my current emails & bookmarks. So I'm bringing the whole box & the new Seagate to the Computer place and have him save all my stuff.
I hate it when machines are't logical.

Computer woes

The RAM & power supply my boss gave me didn't work- both were the incorrect types.
SO: I was going to go to our computer guy at lunch today to order what I DO need, and surmised to my boss I'd be spending about $100, so why not put it towards a whole new system, as my monitor is dying as well, and I'm running XP SP1. So for about $550, I'll get a new system with SP2, a 19" flat screen, a CD/DVD burner. I'll use my current 160 Gb harddrive, and my own version of XP that he'll upgrade. And I can have it back by Monday if I drop everyhting off tomorrow. Cool beans!
I got a 250 GB external hard drive for Emily to put all her music & documents & photos on, so I'll use that to make a backup of everything on both drives first. Oh.
I'll have to put my system back together again to do that.
PAH!
I'm a woman goddammit! I can do Anything!!

It's Tuesday!

I may be on to something in regards to my home PC: after suffering thru painfully slow click-response-times, and getting an "out of virtual memory" message the other day while scanning for problems, I had the idea of checking my system set-up. For soem reason I have only 240 MB of RAM. I vaguely recollect being pleased (oh so long ago) to have at least 512 (possibly more) MB for running XP, so even if I had less, the 240 MB is SUCH an ODD number.
I'm wondering, if, that day I came home to a burning electronics smell while Em was still home, and I opened up the case to blow all the dust out, maybe I dislodged one of my RAM chips.
i will have to do unhook everything (AGAIN!!!) and open it up (AGAIN!!!) to double check the chips and verify the size of my power supply (the most likely culprit of the burning smell). My faulty menopausal memory seems to corollate the timing of blowing the guts out with the subsequent crappy performance.
Oh- I didn't tell you I've been having hot flashes?Let me tell you- it's SO much fun- honestly- you should all try it! I also think menopause is causing my chronic exhaustion, crankiness, and aching joints. I can't even tell you how irregular my period has become, because I can't remember!!! I also think, though I've never seen it reported in a medical journal, that bad typing skills are exacerbated by menopause. Serioiu;sy!
So I can't tell you when I'll get to posting pictures again- I just don't have the time at work, plus the hardware. Our scanner here seems to make very pale scans, and it;s awkward pointing the image to the correct computer.
TTFN and sorry for the "menopausal" ie: irregualr postings.

Thursdays

S&B was good tonight. I got thru the dreaded gold DMC "floss". What crap that sh*t is!!

It won't thread thru the needle; I bought a pack of needle threaders before i started tonite & broke 2 of them trying to thread 3 individual strands of floss. The 2nd one didn't even last for the one time I used it.

I didn't get to the other biscornu though, the Xmas one is coming along.
