See- more Stitching!

Garden Grew:

Look at those little ladybugs by the water can- aren't they cute? I'm really starting to like this. I had some issues at the beginning and the floss list per page is enormous, but each color seems to be used on just one motif per page, so I can set out the 4 or 5 bobbins for each design, then put them back in the box when I'm done, instead of rifling thru 60 bobbins every color change.

Blue Moon:

Bent Creek. What can I say? It stitches up quick. I probably could finish this in 3 or 4 more lunch breaks.

Igor! It's ALIVE!

And it's even been stitching:

Garden Grew:

I'm a little less than half-way  thru page #2 (Left to right), and I started a wee bit on page 6 (I think)- that stick thing to the right , below the snail. The page numbering goes:

Here's Blue Moon:

I started riding again Monday night. Axe was a bit frisky after her 9+ days off. We had gone 3/4 of the way around on our first canter when she did a couple of crow hops, and dropped her nose with a nasty, ominous shake of the head. 35 year old muscle memory kicked in & I sat back & deep and kept her nose up, moved her forward and then halted her. Then resumed the canter without further incident. I'm very proud of myself. I really didn't want to land in the dirt with a dislocated shoulder or worse.

So I have to get going- I've got a little routine going where I get the dishes washed, then get ready for bed while the tea kettle boils, then sit down for TV & stitching- by 8:00 so I have to go!

I forgot!

I won a blogging award from A Horse and a Half! More about it tomorrow because it involves thinking and I've used up all my required brain-dedicated oxygen from coughing & hiccupping.

Some Stitchery

I've almost caught up to Glenna:

Having all the excess fabric folded and pinned in about 5 places on the Q-snaps was making my palms itch (I HATE creases in my fabric that are caused on purpose!!) so I re-hung it on a scroll rod. I had to buy some dowels to cut down to 36". Now it's too big to bring to the office, so I started this:

'Blue Moon" by Bent Creek on 28 ct white Jobelan w/ Crescent substitutions.

Found out today after a week of sheer agony that I have a sinus infection. So my chest and throat muscles have been just killing me to exhaustion from coughing. So I get my meds home and take the first doses. Then I get the freekin' hiccups. For about 45 minutes. Talk about running me over with a Mack truck!

It'll be touch & go, ladies, if I get to stitching tomorrow- I don't want to pass this on.

I've caught the cold/bug that either my boss has been coughing & sniffing about the office, or the plague that Em was carrying last Monday when she came over. Or a combination of both. Woopdy doo!
The aleeve cold & sinus formula has kept me awake 2 nights in a row. I switched to A "Tussin"gel cap from Walgreen's and a store brand Sudafed-that-doesn't-contain-pseudohepinephryneidinealaol. Whedeva.
It's kind of keeeping things at bay, but not quite. I've spent all afternoon trying unsuccessfully to nap, and wondering what to eat that doesn't make my stomach do flip-flops. The only thing so far has been chocolate. Which is wicked awesome considering it's Valentine's DAy and all. I suppsoe I could walk up to Walgreens fro soem drugs and 50% off candy. Do you know the ssuprmarket had Easter candy AND Valentiens candy out last night? Crazy I say.

Off to consider those typing skills. I wrote this in Blogger, so no spell check. Live writer checks & corrects before posting. Blogger just says "You mispelled somethign stupid" and leaves you to figure it out. I don't have time for that shit.

Is anyone out there? It's awfully quiet in blogland this afternoon.
I hope everyone is OK?

Here's a photo from Ireland; my mom & I were going to Ballinskelligs and this ruin was on the way. I came across a new blog: Notes From Blue Hen Hollow. Siobhan is an American living in Ireland and I'm a jealous girl. The subject of my Irish horse vet came up elsewhere on the interwebs and his dreamy accent. Why can't I get me one of those? And then move back to the old country?

It's The MOST, Wonderful Time of the Year...

Well, I have those dreaded tax and financial aid forms done, awaiting transmission to the proper authorities. Maybe I can get back to blogging with a little more regularity.

The Horse seems to have recovered quite nicely from her swollen ankle, and I'm back in the saddle again. For your visual entertainment:

(This is "A Girl and Her Horse"- not ME and my horse. Can you tell she does hunters?)

No stitching news, though. Maybe tonight? My GAWD why am I getting SO dyslexic!!!???? If I corrected every transposition I make, I'd never  get a sentence completed!! Is anyone else getting more dyslexic as they get older or is it just me?

I forgot to say I had made another pot roast last weekend, and then made hash with the leftovers. Yummy stuff!

This weekend was a roaster chicken, and I just made some chicken salad with leftovers.

Supposed to be warm tomorrow- near 50 degrees. Woo-Hoo!

Fringe on TV tonight; I'm liking that show (I crush on Joshua Jackson, even if he does have a pronounced furrow between his eyebrows) but then I love LOST.

My Next Start

Here 'tis:

"And A Garden Grew" by Rosemont Manor (?)

I started gridding, and was already one thread off. There are numerous almost alike symbols, indicating drastically different floss colors. I'm going to have to be diligent about referring to the chart cover picture to double check. The pink-blossomed flower at the bottom left & its stem are what I accomplished in about 1-1/2 hours tonight.

But Will it Help my Typing Skillz?

Grammar Girl

And related news story.

First 2009 Finish!

Toil & Trouble2

"Toil & Trouble" by Plum Street Samplers on 32 ct. Lakeside Linen "Patina" and recommended flosses with a few color substitutions

Sunday, February 1, 2009

I'm So excited!

I got my fabric for "And A Garden Grew"- Zweigart linen "Autumn Blush". It's perfect- it looks like what was used on the cover model for the chart:

autumn blush linen And a Garden Grew

Based on Glenna's comments, I think I'll baste in some grid lines.  Sadly, I haven't had time to sit and finish that last red tree in Toil; and I just realized my boss might REALLY screw up my day tomorrow. Crap.
