See- more Stitching!

Look at those little ladybugs by the water can- aren't they cute? I'm really starting to like this. I had some issues at the beginning and the floss list per page is enormous, but each color seems to be used on just one motif per page, so I can set out the 4 or 5 bobbins for each design, then put them back in the box when I'm done, instead of rifling thru 60 bobbins every color change.

I started riding again Monday night. Axe was a bit frisky after her 9+ days off. We had gone 3/4 of the way around on our first canter when she did a couple of crow hops, and dropped her nose with a nasty, ominous shake of the head. 35 year old muscle memory kicked in & I sat back & deep and kept her nose up, moved her forward and then halted her. Then resumed the canter without further incident. I'm very proud of myself. I really didn't want to land in the dirt with a dislocated shoulder or worse.

So I have to get going- I've got a little routine going where I get the dishes washed, then get ready for bed while the tea kettle boils, then sit down for TV & stitching- by 8:00 so I have to go!

Having all the excess fabric folded and pinned in about 5 places on the Q-snaps was making my palms itch (I HATE creases in my fabric that are caused on purpose!!) so I re-hung it on a scroll rod. I had to buy some dowels to cut down to 36". Now it's too big to bring to the office, so I started this:

Found out today after a week of sheer agony that I have a sinus infection. So my chest and throat muscles have been just killing me to exhaustion from coughing. So I get my meds home and take the first doses. Then I get the freekin' hiccups. For about 45 minutes. Talk about running me over with a Mack truck!

It'll be touch & go, ladies, if I get to stitching tomorrow- I don't want to pass this on.

Blech!

I've caught the cold/bug that either my boss has been coughing & sniffing about the office, or the plague that Em was carrying last Monday when she came over. Or a combination of both. Woopdy doo!
The aleeve cold & sinus formula has kept me awake 2 nights in a row. I switched to A "Tussin"gel cap from Walgreen's and a store brand Sudafed-that-doesn't-contain-pseudohepinephryneidinealaol. Whedeva.
It's kind of keeeping things at bay, but not quite. I've spent all afternoon trying unsuccessfully to nap, and wondering what to eat that doesn't make my stomach do flip-flops. The only thing so far has been chocolate. Which is wicked awesome considering it's Valentine's DAy and all. I suppsoe I could walk up to Walgreens fro soem drugs and 50% off candy. Do you know the ssuprmarket had Easter candy AND Valentiens candy out last night? Crazy I say.

Off to consider those typing skills. I wrote this in Blogger, so no spell check. Live writer checks & corrects before posting. Blogger just says "You mispelled somethign stupid" and leaves you to figure it out. I don't have time for that shit.

Here's a photo from Ireland; my mom & I were going to Ballinskelligs and this ruin was on the way. I came across a new blog: Notes From Blue Hen Hollow. Siobhan is an American living in Ireland and I'm a jealous girl. The subject of my Irish horse vet came up elsewhere on the interwebs and his dreamy accent. Why can't I get me one of those? And then move back to the old country?

It's The MOST, Wonderful Time of the Year...

Well, I have those dreaded tax and financial aid forms done, awaiting transmission to the proper authorities. Maybe I can get back to blogging with a little more regularity.

The Horse seems to have recovered quite nicely from her swollen ankle, and I'm back in the saddle again. For your visual entertainment:

No stitching news, though. Maybe tonight? My GAWD why am I getting SO dyslexic!!!???? If I corrected every transposition I make, I'd never  get a sentence completed!! Is anyone else getting more dyslexic as they get older or is it just me?

I forgot to say I had made another pot roast last weekend, and then made hash with the leftovers. Yummy stuff!

This weekend was a roaster chicken, and I just made some chicken salad with leftovers. 

Supposed to be warm tomorrow- near 50 degrees. Woo-Hoo!

Fringe on TV tonight; I'm liking that show (I crush on Joshua Jackson, even if he does have a pronounced furrow between his eyebrows) but then I love LOST.

I'm going to have to be diligent about referring to the chart cover picture to double check. The pink-blossomed flower at the bottom left & its stem are what I accomplished in about 1-1/2 hours tonight.

I'm So excited!

I got my fabric for "And A Garden Grew"- Zweigart linen "Autumn Blush". It's perfect- it looks like what was used on the cover model for the chart:

Based on Glenna's comments, I think I'll baste in some grid lines.  Sadly, I haven't had time to sit and finish that last red tree in Toil; and I just realized my boss might REALLY screw up my day tomorrow. Crap.
