Thursday Stitching Progress…

Beacon House:

BH16

I finished the stag, backstitched the first bunny, added his (her?) companion, continued the border outline and filled in with some snow. It seems this snow is about all we’ll be seeing this “winter” here in SE Massa –two-shits. (as the Prez likes to say it). I also did a bit more on my February ornament:

E&E&E Christmas Sampler2

I need to get cracking on this one or I’ll be behind all year long.

Stitching Fun…

Here’s tonight’s progress on Beacon House:
BH15
Have I mentioned how much I hate Windows? It has taken over 5 minutes to post everything you see above this point!
Anyway, here’s my February ornament:
E&E&E Christmas Sampler
Ewe & Ewe & I  Friends Christmas Sampler (again). I stitched this last year and gave it to my barn owner this past Christmas. It’s a really sweet design and I wanted it for myself.
I have to go before I throw my chair through the monitor. More updates have come thru and I seemed to have slowed to a crawl……….arrrgggg!

So Close!

Quaker Christmas Spot Sampler:

QCS 4

Almost done!

Garden Grew:

GG21

Not so much.

I rode the Axester today for the first time since May (!)

She was good for me, thankfully. It was nice to be able to give her a bath when we were done.

Then I mowed the lawn and almost had a baby bunny massacre. As I was mowing, all of a sudden I saw brown blobs scampering away from almost under the mower and realized it was 2 baby bunnies. I shooed them further away, and 2 or 3 more poured out of a hole in the ground, right where I had just mowed. Then I had to keep a lookout for them as they had bounced off into the grass that was yet to be done. I caught up to 2 of them next to the bushes in front of the house, and shooed them further in. Hopefully their parents taught them where the emergency hatch is!

Happy Independence Day!

Progress on Many Fronts....

Garden Grew:

GG20

Quaker Christmas Spot Sampler:

QCS 3

I had to do the reindeer twice- I had stitched with 3 rows between the legs instead of 2, not a fudge-able error. This is a lot more fun than the damn stockings.

Now it's time for me to wash dishes, then collapse on the couch in front of a fan in a puddle of sweat. Did I mention that I hate summer?

It Ain't Easy Being...

NO- not "green".....just....being.

My stitching buddies know the long, sad, so sad it's funny story about Bob & his truck and my eyes cross just thinking about it again, so I won't bore you with it.

I meant to post last night but the 2 guacamoles were here lounged all over the living room, so I couldn't take pictures. I couldn't post Thursday night because I'm a crazy sap who can't bear to see them spending money on takeout food, so I offered to go to the supermarket for taco fixings. By the time I washed all the dishes, and listened to Bob's tales of woe, it was 9:30, and they're lounging around the living room.

So without further ado, here is photographic proof of my stitching:

Garden Grew (yay! I LOVE this piece!):

Here's a closeup of the vase of flowers I completed:

I started the next BBD stocking from February:

Mar 16

This is 2 lunch breaks worth of work.

I've been getting progressively more unenthusiastic about these the more I work on them. I don't know why- I love BBD stuff....well... maybe I'm drawn more to their older designs- the ones with the cute houses, for instance. So, anyway, I came across this in Cranberry Cross Stitch (plug for Deb) at stitching night:

Christmas Sampler-Ewe & Eye & friends

"Christmas Sampler" by Ewe & Eye & Friends. It's just a little (5" x 5"-ish) Quaker-like spot sampler. I've been toying with the Mary Wigham SAL project, and Wanda is doing "Spirit of Vierlande"- her colorway is stunning. I figured this little thing will re-boot my stitching mojo, so I can get Garden finished and those damn stockings out of my bag. I kind of want to start one of my Long Dogs and while exiled to my bedroom the other night, I went stash diving and came across this:

Quaker Virtues

I'd get help from the S&B girls about colors- I don't think I want an entirely monochromatic look.

Well, I'm killing time until the farrier ("rockstar" in sing-song voice!) comes this afternoon. Time well spent stitching....

Happy Needles!

In An Effort to be Brief...

Here's my progress on Kittys from tonight:

This almost looks upside down-Hmm- funny.

And here's Christmas Sampler sans charm & ironing (and not in that order):

we had a fun night. i regaled with stories of the Tripp's dumb sheep.

I got Chinese food for supper, and another pair of Eddy Baur jeans for $10, and another hooded sweatshirt for work (and warmth!)

Oh- and I worked on Wish ornie at lunch- i forgot to take it out for a scan. LAter post, i guess- oops- Gray's Anatomy is on now!

Suck, Suck Suck!!

I'm OCD-ing about preparing my tax returns (Emily's too) so that I can THEN do my CSSPRofile & Fafasa.

I just did my return and I'll get a good refund, however I relaized while scanning my Xmas Sampler update that I didn't adjust for cash payments Em & the AF made.

Suck- REDO!

Colts won the SuperBowl-Suck #2!

No stitching this wekend-Suck #3- no time long story but here's the latest on Xmas Sampler:

I'll be angsting over tax-related documents the next few days- I can't be beholden to the blog with that crap hanging over my head. I'll try to get back soon.

Oh- and SUCK #4: bossman has been at work way too much so no stitching there either.

Old & Newer finishes plus more...

Here is my progress on Christmas Sampler. I hope to get more done today.
Here is my progress on Kittys. I am gradually getting more adept at my scanner program, and realized after several scans that I could rotate the image. I will try to edit this later when I get home tonight. Notice I changed the little kitty in the corner to black (well, WDW Soot). The opposite corner will be the same to represent my two kittys, Aslan and Rosalita. Rosie unfortunately passed away in November ;(. She was the sweetest cat I've EVER had. We miss her terribly.
This and the next:
are "Millenium 3" by Trail Creek Farm. I used WDW Schneckley (I think that's my fave color) on 18 ct ivory aida- just some old stuff I've had forever. There's a third design of an ornament. (Hence Millenium 3.) Still in the To-Do pile. SIGH
This is Sisters & Best Friends "And to All a Good Night". It's DMC on 28 ct Jobelan "Summer Sky". I still need to add a star charm, a bell and strings of beads on the tree. I had to do this after a string of much less colorful designs.

This was a dare project. We were discussing "odd"" colors of floss (as in "WHAT could this be used for?") at Deb's one night. She happened to gesture to Mermaid by WDW. I said (bravely) I know what I could use that for! and did this. It's "Acorns & Threads" by Barrick Samplers-small version - on 28 ct (maybe?) white linen. The linen seemed to have an uneven weave, not that it was described as such on the package. The design seemed to come out much more vertically than the chart indicated. I was anticipating something more square.

THIS is my masterpiece. Long Dog Sampler: St. Georges. Black DMC on 28 ct. white linen. It IS finished, just wouldn't fit on the scanner, and I do not have a digital camera. (So sad). I have a huge 20" x 20" frame from IKEA, with a perfectly sized pre-cut mat. I must take a day to mount this. I want to give it to my friends from M'boro who've moved to Maine.

This is Bent Creek's "Sweet Home". I SO love all these little house designs. I have so many different ones in stash. Must be the drafter in me!

I had more photos scanned but they didn't upload. I will have to re-post them later. Actually, it kind of changes the title of this post, because the stashed items are amongst the images that didn't appear. Well, at least the scanner didn't fail.

Work in Progress...

Here's my "small" called Christmas Sampler:
I have no idea why it keeps adding the photo above my text.
I'll have to check on this, but I have other things to do tonight.
I just wanted to make a post & see if I could get the scanner working.

BBBRRRR!!!!

Well it's fianlly decided to be winter- not eveen 30 D today (don't know where the degree symbol hides).
No stitching the epast two nights, though I got some doen on Xmas Samplre at lunch yesterday--OMG!!! is that a speel check button?????

Why yes Virginai, there is a Santa Claus - WaIT! It highlites misspellings, but doesn't change. WHat good is that? I KNOW I've misspelled.

ANyway, Stitch N' Bitch tonight. I can't wait. I'll work on "Kittys"- because of it's size I decided it was too unwieldy to carry back & forth to work. I'll work on "smalls" at work, and frames at home & Deb's.

I still have to get to Walmart for salt and Aidan's b-day present. And take down Xmas decorations. I'm waiting for Emily to take a picture of the tree- I like one every year.

Bob came to visit Chicken yesterday afternoon becuase I had to go to a wake after work. He actually took her to MacDonalds for a Happy Meal! Well, only the burger, but he said she was in ecstasy. I can just picture her little face smiling away!

A girl who looked at 1/2-leasing Axe last summer re-contacted Emily, and is again interested. She's coming Friday afternoon to ride her. If she wants to lease, I'll have to coordinate her schedule with the Jimmy (AKA D'Jelle) ladies who I've given permission to ride the Axe.

I've been craving pot roast of all things the past couple of days, maybe because I'm imagining it will warm up my house without all the work of beef stew.
